Is CMI MI yellow or blue?
Posted by Abdullah on March 7, 2025 at 1:11 amThe color of CMI MI which i currently use is yellowish. I import it from another country.
A local supplier has imported CMI MI with very good price but it’s color is blue.
What should the normal color of CMI MI be?
Yellowish or blue or both are ok?

The one in the glass which is yellowish is the one i currently use and i import it from another country. According to their COA(photo attached) it has Magnesium nitrate& Magnesium Chloride.
The one in the bottle is available locally recently. It COA is not available and local supplier also don’t know that details.(local suppliers here don’t know much technical details or COA of any item they sell).
Is it possible that CMI MI 1.5% has one color and 14% has another color?

Do NOT buy ANYTHING from a company so crappy it doesn’t give you a CoA.

To your question - the local blue product prob includes copper ion - consistent with Kathon ICP II. https://www.chempoint.com/products/lanxess/kathon-cg-icp-isothiazolinone-microbiocide/kathon-cg-icp-preservative/kathon-cg-icp-ii

KATHON™ CG/ICP II, LANXESS - ChemPoint
Request your sample of KATHON™ CG/ICP II preservative that is based on CMIT/MIT and is designed for use formulations with sensitivity to high salt content

Thanks
Should we also not dilute Kathon ICP II with water the same as Kathon ICP before adding to finall product or it is stable for this?
