  • Ingredients to Impart Dry Skin Feel to Creams/Lotions?

Posted by spadirect on November 3, 2020 at 9:40 pm

In your experience, what ingredients have been the most effective at giving O/W creams and lotions a pleasantly “dry”, “powdery”, “satiny”, “opposite-of-greasy” sensory perception on the skin?

In recent years, personal care industry suppliers have launched a plethora of new ingredients that claim to give creams and lotions a dry, non-greasy skin feel even in O/W products that contain as much as 30% oils.  There now seem to be many ingredients that make the dry skin feel claim.

The question is which of these ingredients seem to be the most effective at actually delivering on the dry, non-greasy skin feel sensory effect?

Any suggestions, comments, recounting of experiences or discussion about dry skin feel-imparting ingredients would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

The ones that come to mind for me are BTMS 50 and Penstia Powder. And Dimethicone.

There are lighter, drier feeling esters that work well.  Finsolv TN is a nice one.
