    Hello guys,

I am wondering if it’s ok that I make cosmetic product safety report (CPSR) for cosmetic product my company (me) formulated or it is obligated (maybe because of conflict of interests) to outsource some independent safety assesor to do the job. We are making cosmetic products under European laws, so we must act according to REGULATION (EC) No 1223/2009 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL on cosmetic product. I have a diploma in a health field that also covers safety of cosmetic products and I individually studied and learned how to create CPSR. I also made some CPSR’s for our cosmetic products, but I didn’t done any training courses for safety assesor.

Do you guys know how other bigger cosmetic companys make thier safety reports ? Do they employ people to do the job or they outsource…?

    Thank you for the answer.

    Have a great day.

If you are trying to register your products in the EU, the Safety Assessment Report must be done by a certified EU Safety Assessor. If you are not a certified EU Safety Assessor, then your self-written report would not be accepted. If you are interested in becoming a certified EU Safety Assessor, there is a course offered in Brussels that runs about 5 days in person or you can take the online version that may take a few weeks to complete.
