How to thicken solution containing alcohol
Hi. I want to make a roll on deodorant. I used a spray anti-antiperspirant formula and just want the solution become thick. Below is my formula:
1. Aqua
2. Aluminium Chlorohydrate 50% - 50%
3. Alcohol 96% - 30%
4. PreservativeAt first, i tried using xanthan gum, HEC and sodium alginate to thicken the solution but it doesn’t work. Then, i tried again using carbopol ultrez 20 (Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer) with TEA and the result still the same, the solution still in liquid state. I checked the pH for both are around 3-4.
Is an alcohol that affect the performance of thickener? how to thicken this formula?
I really appreciate for your reply. thank you.
p/s: im still a beginner 🙂
