  • How to make a gel moisturizer to feel non-drying after it dries

Currently I am making and using a liquid moisturizer, which has panthenol and propanediol as moisturizing ingredients. And it works well and there is no dry feeling when it dries.

But I want to turn it into a gel moisturizer with a more of a gel or ampoule-like texture. I tried mixing xanthan gum, and although the application felt good, after it dried, I had that dry feeling when the gel dried-the feeling that I did not get before adding xanthan gum.

Is there an additional ingredient to consider to prevent this drying feeling I get as the gel dries?

What other gelling agents do you have?

Film formers like seaweed or gelling agents cationic guar, tacky humectants like glycerin are my fav. Although slightly tacky in amounts over 8%, its worth it. The stickiness goes away but leaves skin soft instead of tight. Gel moisturizers are my favorite and I make several products with a gel like texture using hylauronic acid.
