  • How to as safely as possible mask scents in your formula.

Often times you want to use some kind of scent in a formula to mask the intrinsic scent of some of the ingredients.

Some use essential oils, which have varying degrees of sensitization / hyperreactivity potentials based on their composition of volatiles. Then you have distillates which can impart faint aromas and lastly fragrances - a natural marketing faux pas.

Do you have experience with or seen data on what volatiles have the least sensitization potential / are the most gentle to the skin? Are there certain volatile components that are best avoided?
