How do I isolate glycolic acid in from sugarcane juice?

The article above is not the entire article but within they explain that they are going to add ethylene glycol to sugarcane juice and banana juice which will act as a catalyst for the extraction of GAcid via an oxidation process. I can find such ingredients can someone tell me when I know it’s worked?

Your link gave me a 404 but, why do you want to isolate glycolic acid?
The material is extremely low cost and produced on a vast scale such that is not worthwhile isolating from natural sources.

As an amateur chemist without significant technical support, this would not be feasible. As JohnB so rightfully points out, just buy the stuff!
If you made it, lets say, how would you determine the yield and the final purity without Analytical testing.
This function is out of the reach of the assets available to most if not all Cosmetic Chemists. It is better to buy the product and move onto the Formulation. Don’t miss the forest for one very minor tree.
