  How do companies get away with the “heat-protectant” claim?

  I was reading in another thread that heat-protectant products for your hair have nothing in them that actually protects hair from heat damage.

  Heat protecting products do have ingredients that they claim have heat protection. And they’ll have lab tests that prove something they can use to support the claim.
