    Hello,

I’m trying to formulate a liquid lipstick and after doing multiple efficacy tests I have learned that the lipstick is causing dryness and the lips are becoming chapped. My current formulation consists of:

Isododecane, Dimethicone, Film former (powder format), Cytopentasiloxane and dimethiconol, Silica, Perfume, butylated hydroxytoluene.

Question 1: Do I have to add additional ingredients to avoid dryness of lips? If yes, then what can you suggest?

Question 2: Is there an ingredient in the current formulation causing dryness? If yes, which one could it be and what should be the maximum percentage?

    Thankyou so much

The silica is drying. Maybe some emollients can be added, like triglycerides.
