How can I get crystal clear transparent dish washing liquid.
i have do several experiments and still not yet got a crystal clear transparency in my liquid.i have usedSodium Lauryl Ethyl Sulfate (SLES)water (PURIFIED)Sodium Chloride (SALT)Coconut Diethanolamide (CDEA)Linear Alkaline Benzene Sulfonic Acid (LABS)Any piece of advice, suggestion or hint to get a crystal clear transparent liquid is most appreciated.Thanks -

Are you using LABS as the free acid or as a salt? If as a salt, what is the neutralising material?
What are the proportions of each component?

i have used500gms Sodium Lauryl Ethyl Sulfate (SLES)5 it’s tap water (PURIFIED)250gms Sodium Chloride (Industrial Salts)50 ml Coconut Diethanolamide (CDEA)25 ML Linear Alkaline Benzene Sulfonic Acid (LABSA 96% PURIFIED) – anti-ceboi want to get crystal clear gel.

The Linear Alkaline Benzene Sulfonic Acid (LABSA 96% PURIFIED) requires to be neutralised with an alkali before it can act as a detergent and to be fully soluble in water.
There is far, far too much sodium chloride present. This may be either not dissolving in the mix or it may be causing the detergents to precipitate.
Can you explain “5 it’s tap water (PURIFIED)”? Also, what is “anti-cebo”?
Have you tested the dishwashing efficiency of this mixture? At a first glance, the ratio of the two detergents are wrong - SLES is good for producing foam but its dirt removing properties are very poor.

The most convenient way to find dishwashing formulations is to look at detergent manufacturers websites and find sample formulations.

@Avirock please post the formula in 100% first, the first thing that comes to mind is why so much salt. Check the pH and adjust it above 7 although I am not sure why you have used LABSA at all if it so low. By the way what is your benchmark here?

@Avirock you did not mentioned about the preservative?
i suggest formol in such case , cheap and effective. (0.150 % )
also, are you going to use fragrance or you want to smell chemical product

I think there are more important problems with this than the choice of preservative & fragrance.

johnb, yes there things need to be modified, but sometimes minors are more important than majors

Heat the water and SLES up to 70C. Maintain 70C and add CDEA/NaCl. Remove from heat then add the rest when gets below 50C
Pure HOH qs
SLES 25-35%
CDEA 2-4% (will add thickness)
NaCl ~2%
use DDBSA not LABSA ~1% (not really important though id get rid of it)
DMDM, PE, paraben, grapefruitseed oil (whatever preserve you want) - 0.2%clear, 3000-6000cps, pH 5-6.5-ish

There is a lot more to formulating a hard surface cleaner than making a seemingly random mixture of surfactant materials and hoping for the best because the best in this situation will only be very rarely achieved.
SLES in included in this type of product as a foaming agent. Its cleaning properties are very poor. It is present merely because the users expect to see a lot of foam when they wash their dishes.
The “working” surfactant is most often an alkylbenzene sulfonate. This type of surfactant has powerful grease cutting and protein removing properties but its foam is only mediocre - hence the use of SLES and/or other foam boosters such as CDEA (which also thickens the mixture).
Ideally the cleaning power (from the ABS) and the foaming power (from the SLES and amide) should be matched so that the foam collapse corresponds with the detergency (cleaning power).
The is no way that any of the formulae offered above could give a marketable product - that is one that a consumer would buy a second bottle.

@johnb There are chemists here who have good formulae and sell in containers of such products, we are just trying to help without crossing that line where it becomes free professional service.

@johnb not a random mixture of surf, it actually works. It’s also cheap. I was also going off of the OPs formula trying to help OP out. If he wanted to reformulate I’d be glad to provide a better formula.

This thread is being populated by posters who seem to have no idea of the problem, who have not worked in this area and are sending formulations for items which have no connection with the subject.
I am wasting my time here.

Do not use Triclosan in my product. I used some natural extracts for anti acne.

Hi , I read all comments , most of them don’t come to your point .
Just use Acid slurry instead of LABSA and I hope you will get a crystal clear transparent gel . I also faced this problem .
