  • HMW Hyaluronic Acid VS Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer? #Question

I know - HA is expensive. HA doesn’t hydrate better than Glycerin.

But I need to thicken a serum with lots of electrolytes.

With your experience, please help the below.

    1. Between 0.5% HA of 1M/2M Daltons (powder) and Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, who is better in giving a water-gel texture and better skin feel?

    2. More importantly, stability! What are the factors that could break the HA or elastomer gel to water? I was told by a few chemists that HA is not as stable as gums and polymers. Bacteria contamination could be one reason.

    3. I plan to use 3% BG, 1.2% 1,2-Hexanediol, 3% Pentylene Glycol to dissolve Hydroxyacetophenone in a cold-processed formula with HA as the thickener. Other than these, it’s a simple humectant-rich hydrating serum. Will these glycols break the gel or destroy the water-moist afterfeel of HA?

    4. If you answer (1), is your Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer in liquid blend with Pentylene Glycol and Water - diluted? How many % did you use to thicken with the diluted blend?

    5. If you use a powder Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, can you share with me who’s the supplier?

    🍯Thank you! 💌
