Hello, I’m Edward, I want to make natural shampoo. I don’t have a background in knowledge about chemistry but I learned a little about how to make soap like dilute the soap, neutralize the soap, cook the paste, add fragrance
    may I ask something?
can I make shampoo ingredients which consist of:

    -fragrances.
    -argan oil
    -rosemary oil
    -aloe vera
    -coconut oil
    -castor oil (superfating)
    -tocopherol (preservative)
    -potassium hydroxide (lye)
    -vegetable glycerin ( thickening)
    -citric acid (ph buffer)

     -distilled water
how do we determine the percentase of oil used?
example: 20 ounces of coconut oil, 20 argan oil

when do we do thickening and superfating? Is it done after the sequester or before?
    thank you :)
please let me know additional ingredients if you think there is something missing

    1) ‘Natural’ shampoo is made with ‘natural’ surfactants. 2) Tocopherol is not a preservative! 3) For ‘natural’ surfactants you need a thicker, glycerine is not a thickener.
Take a natural shampoo and look at ingredients list to have an idea what are they made of.

And before even starting define ‘natural’

No you cant, shampoo isn’t soap.

I suggest you investigate and learn more before attempting a shampoo formula.
