Hi everyone. Can you please suggest what all points to consider when formulating a shampoo for hard water conditions. Do we need to increase the percentage of chelating ingredients or a clarifying shampoo would work fine for this purpose?

@shivani The main risk of hard water is for your product, especially if you have highly charged anionic surfactants (like Sodium lauryl sulfate). You could use a bit more that usual of your chelating agent. Sometimes mixtures of chelants work synergistically.

SLES is ok in hard and soft water.

INCREASE the chelating agent as you already surmised. Tetrasodium EDTA? Double or triple it. Easiest solution is often the obvious one.
