Haircolor manufacturers referral request
Hi community. I am looking for manufacturers of hair color that specialize in “organic” hair dyes. Namely, an expertise in creating ammonia, resorcinol and PPD free hair colors. I am looking to expand my haircare brand to include hair dyes and will probably start with a range of demi-permanents. I have done a lot of searching and have not found very many options. Your help is greatly appreciated!

Demi-permanent hair color is not very different from permanent hair color except it contains no ammonia (usually monethanolamine is used) and less peroxide. You can avoid PPD and resorcinol by using closely related compounds like Toluene-2,5 Diamine and methyl-resorcinol. Most of these hair dyes are actually “real” organic compounds and are synthesized by organic chemists… :smiley:

Thank you for your reply. I meant the quotes around organic to be sarcastic air-quotes.
The sector of hair dyes that are ammonia, resorcinol and PPD free are marketed as “organic hair color” that “organic salons” use. Really, I’m simply searching for a manufacturer that develops hair dyes that have very low toxicity or irritation potential. -
Good luck with that. Some sectors of the Cosmetic Market can not easilly deliver these benefits.
