hair styling gel
Hi friend
I would like to make hair fixing gel for me and close friend with 1% carbopol 940but i dont know which is better pvp k30 or pvp 90 to give more fixing for hair ?and which is better glycerin or sorbitol to give more brilliant for hair for long time ?and what is the effect of propylene glycloe on the fixing of hair and what it is work in the formula ?please suggest formula ( dont mind for price ) that is give high fixing with high brilliantthank you -

Ehmod1989, both propylene glycol and/or sorbitol/glycerine function to plasticize (read: soften) the fixative polymer film, PVP in your case. The more you use, the more flexible and softer, but less powerful a hold you get. Also, the polyols allow for less flaking (stiffer, less plasticized = more flaking when dry) This hold true for most fixative resins, including the PVM, VA and MA anionic copolymers. Use sparingly would be my advice, and use PVP K90 for a harder hold to begin with.

Just handing out formulas is not what we do here. If you want something very specific, you will need to pay a consultant to make it for you.
