This is NOT cosmetics-related, but I thought maybe some people here would find it amusing, I hope.

I am very skeptical/cynical of most of the “green” cleaning products, ESPECIALLY laundry strips, that are all the rage.

A laundry strip is about 1.5 grams, according to my precious scale. Of that, probably 1 gram is the corn starch, polyvinyl alcohol & glycerin that create the strip itself (I’m assuming). These are the 1st 3 ingredients in their ingredient list.

    This is what I did:

I dirtied up a large piece of an OLD, wrecked, bed sheet with coffee grounds, soil, ketchup, melted milk chocolate bar. I let it dry for a few weeks. I was going to also sacrifice some red wine for this trial, but we drank it instead.

I cut the filthy bed sheet piece into equal-sized pieces for the detergents I was testing.

Each sample was washed separately in COLD WATER (except for the hot water sample) with whatever detergent I was testing according to the SMALL LOAD directions.

I let each sample hang to dry.

I laughed heartily at the results. Next day, I laughed some more, looking at the results.

I am very happy that the laundry powder I use, GRANNY’S, seems to work as well as Tide. Woopee!

I hope the very top of the photo is visible, because I wrote the samples on the top of each fabric strip with a marker.

I love the artistry and creativity. If you want to make it more challenging, add some ink to the combo, and of course, some red wine (either a cheap one, or perhaps a bottle that a bad boyfriend gave you long time ago).

I WAS going to sacrifice some red wine, but we drank it instead ???? ????. It was sad enough to sacrifice the 4 little milk chocolate bars I had (from a coffee shop) for the trial.
