Functions of gum in laundry detergent other than increasing viscosity
These are two laundry detergent formulas.
One has 0.5% Carboxymethyl Cellulose.
Another has 1.5% Acrylates Copolymer.My question is, are these ingredients here only to increase viscosity or they have any other function in laundry detergent too?

I dont know the answer to your question because i have never attempted to make laundry detergent. But i am curious, are these low levels of surfactant typical in laundry detergents?

Always together brother???? @Abdullah actually they are more then thickener both are used as anti-redeposition agents and they have more then that function in detergent.
@GeorgeBenson I guess it is low quality product soo far from conventional level. -
