  • Fragrant Oils help ?

I have been trying to scent my hair clay for quite some time and I am having problems. I have been trying essential oils and fragrant oils up till now.

I previously got some advice that I should look to buy bulk ‘perfume concentrate’ from suppliers online that would have a solvents as well as fragrance compounds. I just cannot seem to find anything like this, they tend to be just the one ‘fragrant oil’.

What typical dosage would be required for a heavy clay / wax mixture to get a pleasant scent? Is a solvent necessary to dissipate the fragrance? I am adding my fragrant oils/essential oils whilst my mixture is warm (not hot) at around 1% w/w and not getting a good scent. It is also expensive going much higher than this.

it depends on what kind of fragrance you’re adding, and where you’re sourcing this fragrance from

It also depends on the clay % in your formula. Its well known that fragrances adsorb to clay, in other words you need to add higher fragrance %
