  formulating using phenylethyl alcohol and Caprylglycol

  I am looking to formulate using a phenylethyl alcohol and Caprylglycol blend as the preservative system. Does anyone have any experience using such blends for preservation and could they provide some tips if they have any? I will be preserving a natural toothpaste which has a pH of 8, it does not contain any nonionic surfactants.
