Hello! I am trying to formulate soap-based shaving cream which I can put in a bottle with a pump. A am using a process, where I first create a liquid soap with KOH, Stearic acid Coconut, and Olive oils, then mix it with some plant extracts gelled with Hydroxyethyl Cellulose, and at the very end, I add more Stearic acid, glycerin, and lots of Myristic acid. At first, I get a very nice creamy soap, shiny and flowing, but in several hours it became a foam, which is not possible to put in a bottle or to store for a long time. Could you help me to understand what is happening? Is it because the saponification process continues to happen (the final pH is 9.5), or this is simply because I put too much air in the cream while stirring it?
