    Dear
    colleagues,

Please help me with a question regarding organic solvents in
floral absolute making. In general, the process consists of with two
    steps,

    1. concrete extraction with Hexane. The plant material is extracted
wit hexane, which is later gets evaporated to make concrete
    .

2 Concrete dissolves in ethanol, then the refrigerated and
filtered to separate aromatic parts. From the solution ethanol gets evaporated.

So, the question is if it it possible to mix the two step and
use only ethanol as a solvent. As hexane is toxic, I would prepare not to use
it in my laboratory. Who has experience with floral extraction?

    Thanks.
