European raw materials retailer
Posted by PharmaSpain on August 9, 2016 at 9:39 amI have find an Spanish raw material distributor that offer really good price for small quantities purchases in most of products (even 50% in some cases comparing to other small distributors. For example glyceryl stearate: 9.50€/kg) and they have a quite extensive catalogue (again comparing to the competence).
I have found them by chance as they do not have a good google position so maybe most you didnt know them. I hope you find it usefulguinama.com

Our current price in Mexico for glyceryl stearate is around $2USD/kilo in small quantities.

where do you buy at those prices? I have made a lot of research and that shop was the most affordable I found buying so small quantities as 1 kg (for example, makingcosmetics price is 20$/kg!!).
I think we should make a list with ingredients/prices/where to buy them (at least the most commons)
@Perry Why not to create a google drive/similiar excel sheet where someone can add the datas? Even if prices can be outdate sometimes, It could be an extraordinary resource for most of us.

In my city, Monterrey, I have at least half a dozen factors who I can buy basic components from (such as the one mentioned) and there are other factors in Mexico City and Guadalajara where I can source the rest. I also import special ingredients from the USA and China. The problem with making a list would be that it necessarily is country-specific and also, it would go out of date pretty quickly.

whow, In spain I can not imagine to find it in such an easy way.
About the list: We could add the country (shipping cost are not a problem is we could safe so much money). About keeping up to date: small variations in price would be a minor problem if people could safe so much…. If for example your manufacturer increase a 100% the price, I would be very happy. In adittion, just having a list of “small quantities retailers” who offer a good price would be nice.
It is my opinion…

How much do you need?
The current asking price at BASF(one of the manufacturers) is 5 Euro/Kg. You need to buy 25 kg for that price.
Also, with the current GBP rate, British resellers are an interesting option:

Thanks BartJ,
In this moment I don´t need such quantity as my interest is for small lab test batches ( but thank you anyway ).
I finally have make different orders, 2 of them in UK (naturally thinking and gracefruit too )
For example: I got glyceryl Stearate for 6 pounds vat included (a good price taking in consideration that you can order 1 kg) here: http://www.naturallythinking.com/glyceryl-stearate.htmlIf case someone is interested that web (naturallythinking) have good prices in some products but they are, with difference, the slowest in logistics (I already have received the rest of my orders but they did not even prepared my order yet)

@Perry If you create it (you should own the file as you are the only 100% sure permanent member here), I would happily add my raw material/supplier list with their prices.
Something like this?:
Material (INCI) / price&quantity 1/ price per Kg or L 1/ Link-supplier 1/ price-quantity 2/ price per Kg 2/ Link-supplier 2/ ….
That was the format that I used.I think it would be more efficient to limit this list to small quantities. Bigger quantities is another world, huge and thousands of prices depending on purchase volume. It would be a good resource for your cosmetic formulation course too
