Emulsion for Bath oil
I am trying to replicate a product, which is bath oil made by one of the skincare company. This bath oil emulsify spontaneously after dropped into water and only need simple stirring by hand to disperse it into the rest of water.
I tried to replicate the formula, but my version of bath oil needs longer time to emulsify and disperse. And, when I dropped it into the water, the oil droplets still visible, not like the one I am trying to replicate.
Here are the ingredients:
coconut
oilgardenia tahitennsis flower
extractsoybean oil olive fruit oil evening primrose oil avocado oil oleth-5 oleth-20 jojoba seed oil hydrolyzed soy protein hydrolized milk protein honey polysorbate-80 tocopheryl acetate My thoughts on the role of each ingredient:
Basic ingredient: coconut oil, gardenia tahitennsis flower extract, soybean oil, olive fruit oil, evening primrose oil, avocado oi, jojoba seed oil, honey.
Emulsifier: oleth-5, oleth-20, polysorbate-80
Preservative: tocopheryl acetate
???: hydrolized soy protein, hydrolized milk proteinHere is the video when I dropped the original mixture into water: https://youtu.be/iHrl2Znk04E
Here is my question:
1. From the video, is it possible that the mixture is a W/O/W emulsion?
2. could the hydrolized proteins have any effect on the emulsion? maybe as cosurfactant?Any help or comment will be greatly appreciated. Thank you before.
