  • Emulsifying essential oils in Zinc Sulphate solution without foaming

Posted by sammos on July 22, 2014 at 3:52 pm

    Hi All,

I am hoping you can help me with this one.
I am trying to disperse eucalyptus oil in a zinc sulphate solution ideally without it being foamy to facilitate bottling.
Currently using SLES, emulsifies well but way too bubbly.
    Any ideas?

Whoops, sorry it kept saying post not made!

Have Polysorbate 20, c/c/ glucoside, decyl glucoside on the way to try. Avoiding PEG-40 as it is such a pig to work with.
    Fingers crossed!

Polysorbate 20 worked fairly well, am leaving it to see if oil settles out overnight.
