    Hello,
    I am having some separation issues in my herbal mouthwash formulation. There is hemp oil as well as peppermint essential oil in the formulation totalling about 5%, the rest is water and water soluble ingredients.. I am using coco glucoside (plant source) Lauryl Glucose as a surfactant which works when swished in blending the phases together but within a minute it separates. What naturally derived emulsifier can I use or add to help with blending such mixture of water an oil phases?

    Let me know if you’d like some assistance in your investigation.  I did surfactant formulation and rheology modification work during my PhD.  Feel free to message me directly.

    Hi,
    PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil and PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil can help emulsifie to make the formula transparent.

    @Perry, excellent point!

    @jmbenavi, it would be helpful to know more about your observed issue to better recommend possible emulsifiers.
    1. Is your goal a macroemulsion or a microemulsion?
    2. What mixing process are you using to prepare the emulsion?
    3. What fraction of the oils are released?
