I use green tea extract in a couple of my formulae but I appear to have a problem with the storage life of the powder. I keep it at 4C in the lab refri in a sealed light-proof container but despite no visible change it appears to lose reactivity in about 3 months. I’m basing this on the fact that after 3 months or so, it no longer displays the yellow->pink colour change as it does when just purchased. It’s getting really annoying having to throw most of it away. Perhaps I should change to using pine bark extract?

The big question is what performance differences do you notice between a batch made with the “good” stuff versus the “bad” stuff.  If you can’t tell a difference on a blinded basis, maybe there really isn’t a problem.

Something has changed suggest you contact supplier regarding out of spec color and have HPLC run for active ingredient.
