Diethylene glycol monoethyl ether (Ethoxydiglycol)
Posted by victoriayepez on August 6, 2017 at 3:13 amHey everyone,
I am using ethoxydiglycol in a formula that contains dihydroxyacetone and its odor is very noticeable. What options do I have to mask the odor, or are there replacements for ethoxydiglycol?

DGME used mostly in cleaners if you are using it as a solvent for DHA switch to DMI (low odor Grant Ind) which may give slight odor but easily masked with Oderone.

@DRBOB@VERDIENT.BIZ What is Oderone? Where would I find that? Also thanks for your response.

This link will help find the orderone http://ordenone.belle-aire.com/what-is-ordenone.We have used it with DMI with success.

@DRBOB@VERDIENT.BIZ Wow they have such a large order quantity. 400 gallons

try other fragrance houses if it works for you as they all have a masking oil, or most all and get a sample of oil and try it using a supplier who will sell you smaller quantities you can afford if it works.

check your grade of EDG, the pharma tends to be better than the cosmetic grade. And, to reduce that DHA smell, try a little metabisulphite.
