  • Cosmetic Regulation in Japan-Microbials

    Hello!
I’m wondering if anyone has experience with exporting or assisting companies with exporting cosmetics to Japan. I am trying to find a list of acceptable microbial levels, but it does not seem that these are part of the national standard for cosmetics.
To my current understanding, the Ministry of Health Labor and Welfare, which regulates the cosmetics market seems to regulate only ingredients and claims.
Then, would manufacturers or importers be responsible for setting their own limits for microbials and ensuring that their products are safe?
Does anyone have any experience with this?
