Is it possible to formulate a shampoo that is not only a deep cleanser but doesn’t leave hair very dry and work well in hard water too?Normally chelating shampoos remove mineral buildup but leave hair really dry.

Well, the object of a shampoo is to clean all the oil and dirt off your hair.  Hair that is nice conditioned typically has oils, emollients and humectants in it.  Essentially, it is very difficult to remove everything bad and put something good back on.

The best technology for this is the Pantene shampoo and they use Dimethicone for the conditioning effect.  Other shampoo formulas can moisturize too but nothing beats the combination of a shampoo then a rinse out conditioner.
