It is a trend on the rise, but one where you really need to be careful as individual countries have vastly different regulations concerning CBD. It is an export jungle, to put it mildly.I’m curious though, is the main product type you have formulated with CBD regular creams? -
It seems that the demand is in almost area. Emulsions and surfactant systems. We have been primarily been using hemp-based CBD (<0.3% THC).One of the biggest issues is the over-reaching claims we see with these products in the US. It is poorly regulated, at least for now.You are correct though. Canada has disallowed CBD topically I believe. -
Mark, seems 99% of the regulatory scrutiny is with the ingestible product folks - many of whom are making absurd claims. This has provided us topicals manufacturers with a nifty smoke screen. Canada has not disallowed yet; and that would be very ironic if they do since that nation is poised to become the largest producer & exporter of cannabidiol in the world.

Tetrahydrocannabinol; delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol; Cannabidiol; Cannabinol; Cannabis Sativa Flower Extract; Cannabis Sativa Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract are all prohibited in any concentration in cosmetics as per the Hotlist in Canada.
