    Most but not all MCT oil is caprylic/capric triglycerides. Depends on the quality and the definition of the manufacturer.

    @Pharma can we call caprylic/capric triglyceride an MCT oil?

    Is caprylic/capric triglyceride eatable?

    @Abdullah

    MCT Oil (Medium Chain Triglycerides) derived from Coconuts is Edible.

    Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides are derived from the combination of of Coconut Oil and Glycerin … I would not recommend eating it, although you probably can.

    If you’re looking for something edible, there are companies selling Liquid Coconut Oil

    @MarkBroussard i am looking for something eatable that can be used in lotion too. MCT is more expensive than Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides. So i want to know if there is a real difference or just difference in names to sell MCT for more money.

    Both have triglycerides in second part of there name. Caprylic/Capric is also Medium Chain. So what else is in one or isn’t in another that makes these two different?

    Yes, there is a real difference.  MCT Oil is made by extracting the Capric and Caprylic Acids from Coconut Oil and then esterification of the remaining medium chain triglycerides with glycerin.

    CCT is the esterification of just the Capric and Caprylic Acids from Coconut Oil after those fatty acids have been extracted.

    If you are looking for something edible, you’re best bet is to use Liquid Coconut Oil

    Is these any medium chain triglycerides other than Capric and Caprylic Acids in MCT oil?

    Yes, it typically includes C8 - caprylic, C10 - capric and C12 -Lauric. Although I saw only C8 and C10 blends.
