Hi everyone! I hope everyone is doing well today.
To all the indie  makers like me here; when you first started did you work on your mission and vision statement? Or do you first experiement and let the market guide you? I was told since i want to do both b2b and B2c i need to have a mission and vision because if i want to speak to drug stores i need to tell them who we are and if i want to do B2C i need to have a mission that ill talk about in my social media content strategy. The point is il struggling with that.Im trying to ask myself why did i embark on this cosmetic journey and all i know is MY ATTENTION TO DETAIL as you probably all have noticed now; im a detail freak. Is this a mission? NO can i make a mission out of it; i dont know!!Can you kindly guide me

Hi Ghita, I would say that although marketing and branding is important in business, but it’s not a core foundation. It’s a long-term benefit, assuming you’ve had your reason “why” and how would you want your customer to preceive your brand.

If you’re just starting out, you may first have your brand name first — what it stands for, be very specific on why you choose this name, this design and color (if any), and what your cosmetic/skincare line is offering. Is it for aging woman with harsh skin? Is it for young people dealing with acne?

Let me know if you still have any questions, feel free to contact me privately if you’re comfortable.
