    Hello everyone.
    I am currently working on a soap based shaving cream product.i made two options one had borax in it and the other did not have borax in it.Surprisingly their was a clear difference in the amount of foam produced.Can any one guide me why was this difference observed?

    @lopamudra i guess product with borax has better foam because borax is basic ingredient so it reacts with free fatty acids to give better foam but more agressif soap. So it is not evident the better foam the better soap cause adding basic ingredient improve foam but decrease mildness of soap so as conclusion we should find the adequat amount to have mild and good foamer soap at the same time.

    It would help if you list all the ingredients in your formula but what @Fekher says is probably right.
