Hi I’m new to this forum. I’m planning on starting my own skincare line and I’m in the trial stages currently. I’m stuck on the topic of sanitizing though. Currently I’m washing out my used beakers, drying, then sanitizing them with alcohol, then I let them air dry. With new bottles straight from the manufacturer I just sanitize with alcohol and air dry. My question is whether this is an effective method or if I should try a different way. Do I have to let the alcohol air dry or can I let it sit for 15 min then wipe dry? (It’s very tedious to let everything air dry as it usually takes overnight) I also can’t seem to find info online about the air drying just that 70 IPA is better. I’ve heard of some other formulators using steramine tablets to sanitize but I’m not sure if it would be worth trying. Any help would be appreciated:)

Beakers we just spray and air dry and store upside down or on drying rack, this shouldn’t take a whole night.

We don’t sanitize packaging but we micro test after product has been filled and have had no major issues. Unless you are buying incredibly dirty bottles the preservatives in your products should be able to handle the packaging environment.

You’ll be fine. Just let them dry in a clean area. Like EV sez, I never saw the need to sanitize packaging unless QA/QC spots an adulterant in there.
