Any one Hair Dye Specialist here?
Posted by aqeel4uk on December 9, 2014 at 9:15 amNormaly permanent oxidative hair dye takes 30to45 minutes to dye hairs. Which contains an alkali agent Ammonia or MEA in the dyes part and Hydrogen Peroxide in the developer or oxidizer.
There are many Chines and Korean Hair dyes which works in just 1to5 minutes.Hair dye does not work in one minute by the increasing or decreasing Ammonia and H2O2.Then what is the ingredient behind 1 minute hair coloring?aqeel4uk replied 9 years, 11 months ago 5 Members · 17 Replies -

I am a layman when it comes to such products but the link below might come handy to you
-
@ageel4uk, I don’t know anything about modern hair dyes, but I do know that at one time, hair dyes were just very slightly modified versions of commercial wool fabric dyes. I also know that wool dyes can work fairly quickly. The cosmetic industry moved away from this technology as soon as these dyes were found to be carcinogenic and/or toxic.
Given the past behavior of parts of the Chinese manufacturing industry, it wouldn’t surprise me at all to find that they are using the fast-acting wool dyes that are illegal for personal care use everywhere else in the world. -
You are bang on money here @Bobzchemist, I have had few samples form China through a customer and he requested the shampoo which could dye beard and hair in 5 minutes. Honestly I excused myself as it is pretty much like living on the edge.
-
yes milliachemist, I have used this chines shampoo base hair dye, and it actually works in just 5 minutes. It’s two part same like other hair dyes, tint and developer but the base is shampoo.
I saw the link you gave but there is no such type ingredient which helps to work in 5 minutes. This is a secret and they do not mention in their ingredient. -
Nothing is secret anymore, it is because they are probably banned for personal care use and as @Bobzchemist perfectly mentioned ‘wool dyes’.
-
If there’s a “secret” ingredient in something from China, I’d bet a weeks salary that it’s secret because it is poisonous and/or toxic. If it were above-board and safe, there wouldn’t be any reason to keep it secret.
-
I have experience in formulating permanent hair dyes and I have formulated some 5 min colors in the past. Nothing really secret about them just a bit differently formulated. There is a very large difference between 1 and 5 minutes though and if there is a “secret” it is probably forbidden in EU/US

Nothing written in comments Mr. David. Waiting your helpful advice. you may directly mail me parsona@mail.com

According to this site (http://www.ekminutedye.com/) the quick touch 1 min color you are referring to is not an oxidative dye, it is a direct dye(no peroxide/ammonia). Those dyes all work almost instantly.
To make an OXIDATIVE color is another thing, and the 5 min variants resemble very much the normal permanent hair colors, as you can see from link given above by Milliachemist, but with a bit tweaked levels of the ingredients. -
“Contains patented dye enhancer and natural herb oil to minimize damage to scalp, and at the same time, allows for safe and fastest hair coloring possible.”
I love the “minimize damage to scalp” part. -
While searching for data on triacetin this popped up. I guess it’s their magic ingredient. http://www.quicktouch.biz/whyqt_02.htm

Mr. David here is the instruction of quick touch 1 min hair dye.
-
Open up cap from tube and press cone on cap against seal to open tube.
-
Squeeze out the same amount of cream from both tube 1 and 2 onto the comb- brush.
-
Start application on the greyest area and follow by the whole hair, comb through to ensure even distribution.
-
For adequate coloring, wait for 1 to 3 minutes. For perfect coloring, wait for 3 to 5minutes.
-
Rinse hair with warm water and then shampoo well.
They are using two type of cream, which mean tint and developer and the perfect coloring time is 3 to 5 min.
Any way what is the bit tweaked levels of the ingredients for 5 min according to your past experience of 5 min colors? -
-
Mr aqeel, I would strongly advice you to hire a consultant if you have so many questions and not time (or skill?) to experiment yourself.
If the 1 minute color is an oxidative color they can’t claim peroxide-free.Why don’t you just buy it yourself and find it out?The tweaked levels are for you to find out!Maybe you even make it better! That is the joy of beeing a cosmetic chemist!thanks David
