Hi guys. I’ve been searching for a antioxidation active that would act via inhibiting skin peroxidase. I heard from suppliers there are some anti-aging active that would act on peroxidation pathway, but none of them could refere to any specific ingredient that would act on peroxidase enzyme. Do you guys know any ingredient that might act this way? If you are not sure about any ingredient, just suggest me and I’ll do my research on their mechanism of action.

    Thank you all!

@Gustavo Are you suggesting that you would like to inhibit the peroxidase enzyme? That would prevent the breakdown of harmful peroxides, thus causing increased oxidation (aging) in the skin. I believe that perhaps I have misinterpreted your question. Would anyone else like to weigh in on this?

gfeldman, you are correct.  You want to enhance, not inhibit, the activity of peroxidase enzymes, Gustavo.  As for antioxidants in skin-care formulations, there is a virtual galaxy of them out there. I wouldn’t know where to start there are so many..

Yes! You guys are right. It took me time to understand what you were saying. I expect to inhibit peroxidation. Thus to enhance peroxidase enzymes.

Anyway, reading my suppliers’ catalogs I couldn’t find this well described. And also skin care and aging are not the fields I’m most skilled. It would be of great help if you just point out one or two ingredients.
