    Hello everyone,

I want to measure the antioxidant capacity of a cream and encapsulated cosmetic product. Can I apply Dpph analysis? When I examined the studies, I saw that antioxidant capacity was measured by dpph analysis on plant or fruit extract. The process is carried out under certain conditions by adding dpph methanol solution to the extract. Can I process my final product, the cream, in the same way?

In summary: How can I measure antioxidant capacity of cream and encapsulated products?

Thank you for your help in advance :)

That’s a good  question, @chemeng. I wouldn’t mind knowing myself. There are so many variables with a compounded product and free radicals can be quenched as soon as they are generated.  Might need to look back through the Journal of Society of Cosmetic Chemists archives to check if anyone did this before.
