I have a client who wants to avoid SLES for marketing reasons but is happy to use ALES. I haven’t worked with ALES before, so I was wondering - can I make a straight switch for SLES or are there other considerations to take into account?

Yes, but you have to watch your pH (keep it low) as the ingredient can react with the steel containers and cause pitting.

@Perry Right, ok thanks, that’s very useful to know.

You will get more slip and more foam. I do get pitting on stainless if I don’t clean utensils promptly. Do not let the pH exceed 6.
