  • 2% NACL +2.4 citric acid salt in shampoo with 3% SLS powder

In shampoo we should add up to 2% salt or NACL. If we use 3% SLS powder in shampoo, it requires around 2.4% citric acid to adjust pH to 5.

Now if we add 2% NACL to this shampoo, does it have 2% salt total or 4.4% salt total?

If 4.4%( 2 from NACL and 2.4 from citric acid) then is it ok to have this amount of salt in a Shampoo to get the desired viscosity?

@Abdullah I guess that whatever your are limited just  by NaCl amount and for sure for the citric acid should be added keeping the adequate pH.

SLS powder is the same price as liquid but has >90% active compared to <30. The downside of powder is it has high pH and requires too much citric acid to reduce the pH to 5.

So i just wanted to know if is amount of citric acid that would convert to salt should be counted in 2% salt limit or not because it is not NACL?
