How does 1,3 Propanediol perform as a solvent to incorporate dry powdered botanical extract ingredients into an O/W lotion or cream for use on the skin?

What are your impressions of the overall performance, advantages and disadvantages of employing 1,3 Propanediol as an ingredient in O/W skin care emulsions?

    Thanks!

It’s a great humectant and it decreases stickiness of glycerin. I add it to the most of lotions I make (together with glycerin and in some cases butylene glycol). No disadvantages.
