Need Advice on Formulating Collagen-Infused Soap
I’m working on my bachelor’s thesis project, focusing on developing a solid soap infused with hydrolyzed collagen. My goal is to create a mild, hydrating soap with a stable pH (around 6-7) while preserving collagen’s stability and effectiveness.
However, I’m facing some challenges and would love your expert input:
- When is the best stage to add hydrolyzed collagen to ensure it remains stable and functional?
- Is adjusting pH post-saponification (with citric acid) an effective method for maintaining skin-friendly pH?
- Do you have any soap-making tips or recipes that have worked well when incorporating sensitive ingredients like collagen?
I’d really appreciate any suggestions, tips, or shared experiences!
Thanks in advance for your help!
