  • Help with hair conditioner/leave in formula viscosity

    Hello, new here!

I am developing a 2 in 1 conditioner and styling cream formula, which I need to be moisturizing but light because it is rinseable and leave in at the same time. I have a problem with my formula: The emulsion forms well, and has a good consistency, until at the end I add my preservative Euxyl k712 (NCI Name: Sodium Benzoate (and) Potassium Sorbate) and the viscosity drops completely.

Please does anyone know why this happens and what I can do to stop it from happening?

PS: The reason I add the Euxyl k712 at the end is to add it at less than 40 ºC and with a pH less than 5.

    Thank you!!
