I am currently developing a pearlescent shampoo formula that uses Dimethiconol 1%.

    1. What is the proper order in which I can add Pearlescent (the one I am using has INCI: Glycol Distearate, Cocamide DEA, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Laureth-7) and Dimethiconol to the mixing process?

    2. If my formula does not have emulsifying ingredients, but only surfactants such as sodium cocoyl isethionate, cocamidopropyl betaine, disodium laureth sulfosuccinate, cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, polyquaternium 10, guar hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride. Will these ingredients help stabilize the dimethiconol without adding other emulsifying ingredients or ingredients that suspend silicones?

    3. If I need to add emulsifiers and gelling agents to help stabilize dimethiconol and glycol distearate, which emulsifiers should I add?

Looking forward to hearing from you. Best regards.

Are you adding your dimethiconol as a gum or as an emulsion? In any case, you need a suspending agent that should give high shear resistance, like a carbomer or acrylates copolymers.
