  • Is it ok to add AMD micro emulsion before surfactants in shampoo?

Currently for shampoo production we add ingredients in this order.

Water, SLES, EDTA, SLS , citric acid, CAPB, cationic guar, amodimethicone micro emulsion, NACL.

After adding SLS and CAPB viscosity increases and it slows down mixing of ingredients that we add after them. After adding amodimethicone viscosity decreases again and makes everything easy to mix.

I made a sample and and added amodimethicone micro emulsion after SLES and before any other surfactant and viscosity was low and good until the end.

    My question is:

Is it ok to use amodimethicone micro emulsion as first or second ingredient in a shampoo with above ingredients during manufacturing to keep viscosity low for easier mixing or it should be added at the end before NACL?

Which emulsifier is in your microemulsion?

Then it doesn’t matter. The problem might be to have a cationic elulsifier.
