After 5 attempts, still getting precipitation
I’ve been working hard to create a strong cleanser and finding I can’t avoid precipitation, though I’ve tried several times.
This is the formula
a• Purified water: 40.00%
a• Glycerin: 3.000%
a• Hydroxyethylcellulose: 0.300%
b• Sodium cocosulphate: 8.000%
c• Purified water: 27.50%c• Decyl glucoside (50%): 10.000%
c• Sucrose cocoate: 1.000%
c• Citric Acid (reduce pH from 9-6.5): <.01%
c• Sodium phytate: 0.250%
c• Panthenol: 0.500%
c• Allantoin: 1.000%
c• Cocamidopropyl betaine (30%): 7.500%c• Potassium sorbate: 0.200%
c• Sodium benzoate: 0.750%
Mix a) at 50C for 1.5 hours until fully dissolved. Then increase to 80C to add cocosulfate. Mix 30 mins. Separately mix c) one by one at around 40-50C. Then mixed together. Always mixing at low speeds to prevent bubble formation using a top stirrer. Final pH 6.5
After a couple of days precipitation forms and I can’t figure out why, as I’ve tried combining all together instead of separately for c). Also tried removing Allantoin, sucrose cocoate. And another removing Allantoin, sucrose cocoate and sodium phytate. The temp of the lab goes to around 8C at night, wondering if that could also be part of the problem.
All formulas seem to precipitate. Any experienced eyes would be helpful! Thank you.
