Mineral sunscreen
Hello chemists and formulators,
I have a question about sunscreen. I want to make a mineral sunscreen using zinc oxide and titanium dioxide.
But I have a question about the type of emulsification that will make Zinc Oxide effective.
As far as I know, but I’m not sure, if we do a water-in-oil emulsification, that will make the Zinc Oxide effective.
But if we make an oil-in-water emulsification, the zinc oxide can migrate into the water, reducing its effectiveness, and this migration can be stopped by adding a water-in-oil type liquid emulsifier to that type of emulsification (Oil in water) is that right?
Can I do an oil-in-water emulsification using only an oil-in-water emulsion?
will the zinc oxide be effective in this case?
Thank you.
