Air bubbles and gel expansion
Hello, I have two related question.
We make carbomer-based gels and after the neutralization point we have lots of air bubbles. Although we use a run of the mill, 3 gallon vacuum chamber there are still too many bubbles inside the gels after 10 minutes of vacuuming. Also, the gels seem to expand over time after being placed in packs and syringes. I imagine this is related to too many bubbles.
Any general suggestions how to fix this? Our gels are fairly viscous so we do stir a high rates (600rpm on standard overhead electric stirrer) after neutralizing but I’m not sure otherwise.
Thank you!
