SCI alternative for cream/paste-like cleansers?
I’ve been enjoying thicker cleansers lately. Not solid cleansers, but more.. paste-like? Most of them use SCI and cocamidopropyl betaine as the surfactants. But anytime I try to formulate a whipped and creamy cleanser, all I smell is the SCI. While my product is in its container I can smell the fragrance oil but once I start rubbing the product on my body, the SCI is all I can smell. Does anyone know why that is? Is there a good odorless alternative to SCI? Formulations are usually 30% SCI, 25% cocamidopropyl betaine, 20% glycerin, 19.5% water, 3% stearic acid, 2% fragrance and 0.5% liquid germall plus.
