Organic hair gel with gummy residue on hands
Hello everyone,
I’m currently working on an organic hair gel to use of my type 4 hair, the performance is amazing, but I’m running into an issue where a slight gummy residue and/or very thin film of the gel is left on my hands after applying it to my hair. How do I address this issue?

You’re going to need to list all of your ingredients and their percentages of the formula to get the best advice.

So far I’ve knocked out everything but my guar gum, agar and water. The agar is at .3% and the gaur at 1.75%. The water is at 85%.

Technically I have replace all the other ingredients with water as I wanted to see if the issues is with the gums so the water I put is the difference .

They are called “gums” for a reason. If you don’t want the gummy effect, use a synthetic polymer like PVP.

???? I was so wanting to state the obvious….but anything ‘hair’ is so outside my area. ????

Not to be a nag, but what makes the product “organic?” In the US organic has a legal definition and if you are completely accurate the term would only be used in products or materials registered under the USDA NOP Organic program.
