What materials can I use to stiffen foam created through a foamer component. What I have created looks like the standard but the client wants more stiffness? are there raw materials that will aide with this?

What surfactants are you currently using and are you using any polymers?

If you want the foam itself to be stiffer, then check at shaving cream formulas…there’s an specific combo they use to make it that way. Or perhaps I’m getting your question wrong.

thank you. I want the foam to be able to stand on its own for awhil before getting “watery”. I will look in to the pump style shaving creams. I can’t use aerosol

Adding polymer like xanthan or HPMC can help reduce drainage and might give the foam a ‘stiffer’ look by leaking water more slowly?

You need to strenghten the interface you form around air. This can be done using different ingredients, like water soluble polymers (with or without hydrophobic modification), by adding different co-surfactants, etc. But to know what can work in your system, we need to know what’s in your formula.
